insight collective home page imageInsight Collective is an Economic and Social Research firm established by David Henderson in 2003. David had worked as a senior consultant with SQW Ltd for over four years - involving over 60 projects - building up the firm's skills, employment and social/economic inclusion portfolio in Scotland before deciding to form his own company.

Prior to this he had worked for a regeneration company, in local government and as a researcher with the University of Bath. David has carried out repeat business for a number of clients including:

  • City of Edinburgh Council
  • Communities Scotland
  • Glasgow Alliance and the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership
  • the Scottish Enterprise and HIE Networks
  • a wide range of other clients including local authorities, Social Inclusion Partnerships and Community Planning Partnerships.

David is particularly keen to form and manage teams appropriate to the assignments he is carrying out. Some of his regular collaborators include:

  • Alan Brazewell at Alan Brazewell Economics Limited – particularly on projects associated with community planning such as an evaluation of Better Neighbourhood Services Plan in West Dunbartonshire
  • Anne Brookes Limited – a regular collaborator with whom David is currently helping to develop a Business Plan for the Maryhill Burgh Halls
  • Simon Clark Associates – with whom David worked on an audit of the Social Economy in the Highlands and Islands amongst other things
  • IBP Strategy and Research – currently working with David to help develop an Antisocial Behaviour Strategy for Aberdeenshire Council
  • Margaret Sutherland and Sheila Aitken of Inspire Scotland – on skills and learning projects such as the development of a Workforce Training Programme for SE Fife
  • SQW Ltd – with whom David has been working on a rolling evaluation of the Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder programme for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
