Biography

David had worked as a senior consultant with SQW Ltd for five years, building up the firm’s skills, employment and social/economic inclusion portfolio in Scotland before deciding to form his own company.  Prior to this he worked in Local Government (helping to establish the Paisley Partnership) and for the Centre for Analysis of Social Policy at Bath University.

David has an MA (Hons) 2.1 in Modern History and Politics and Postgraduate Diplomas in Housing Administration and Local Economic Development.  During 2008/09 he was funded by the Scottish Centre for Regeneration to take part in the year-long pilot for the Leadership in Regeneration Level ‘V’ qualification delivered by the Social Enterprise Academy which he found both enjoyable and worthwhile.

More recently David completed the New Economics Foundation Local Multiplier 3 (LM3) certificate.  This provides the knowledge and skills required to track retained public sector expenditure within a given geographic area.

David enjoys working for clients both large and small.  He likes to deliver work which is readable, attractive and with an emphasis on the practical – seeking to give clients the help needed to act on and implement research findings.

He is currently working for Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT) – an employability service for people with mental health problems – as Enterprise Manager. This is a 12 month contract to help develop new social enterprise activity on behalf of the agency and its clients.
